Senior Control Systems Engineer

Are you ready to take the lead on cutting-edge building automation and control systems projects across the UK and beyond? This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a leading international M&E consultancy that\'s driving innovation in sustainable building design and digital infrastructure.

With a strong focus on low-energy, zero-carbon design, this business supports clients across the full lifecycle of complex, technology-driven projects, from early-stage design through to commissioning and handover. You\'ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team working on some of the most advanced buildings in the world, including data centres, R&D facilities, and critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the production of detailed MEP control system designs and specifications for a variety of building types.
  • Developing points lists, sequence of operations, and functional specifications.
  • Producing schematics, network topology drawings, and control function diagrams.
  • Conducting condition surveys, preparing technical reports, and recommending improvement plans.
  • Representing the company at technical meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Specifying and attending FATs, SATs, and Integrated Systems Testing.
  • Overseeing commissioning activities and ensuring project delivery meets the highest standards.

Experience Required

  • HNC/BEng in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years\' experience as a Senior Engineer or above.
  • Strong understanding of building automation, instrumentation, and monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in control system design, documentation, and reporting.
  • Experience with major control system vendors such as Schneider, Siemens, and Trend.
  • Solid understanding of networks, cabling, and network security.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to lead projects, mentor others, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel for international projects when required.
