My name is Tristan, a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Leeds Energy Water & Resource MEICA team. I joined Arup 5 years ago through the Graduate programme. Since then, I have worked on multidisciplinary projects focused on sustainability, such as Clean Air Zones, Electric Vehicle Strategy, Hydrogen gas network transition, and Electrical infrastructure for a Nuclear facility. Arup prides itself on delivering decarbonisation projects that are fulfilling for colleagues and society, offering endless opportunities for career progression.
Throughout my time at Arup, I have collaborated on interesting projects, worked with experts across the company, and gained new skills. Highlights include presenting a paper on EV infrastructure modelling in Lisbon and completing a site survey and design for an Automated Tunnel Inspection project in Toronto.
The Opportunity
We have an opening for a Senior Controls, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineer interested in engaging technical work. Opportunities exist within the UK Water Sector AMP8 framework and the Infrastructure Strategic Alliance, which involves decommissioning Europe’s most complex nuclear site.
As a Senior CE&I Engineer, you will manage multidisciplinary projects, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers. You will lead infrastructure projects of various sizes, involving feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design, and site activities. You will also establish strong client and external contacts, participate in resource planning, and work closely with our Alliance partners and clients.
Requirements include successful delivery experience in electrical/control & instrumentation engineering, MV/LV power design, building services, control & instrumentation systems, project team leadership, stakeholder management, and familiarity with design tools like BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, etc. Experience in sectors such as infrastructure and nuclear is advantageous. Knowledge of BS 7671, CDM regulations, DSEAR/ATEX, and ability to work with contractors is preferred. A UK driving license and security clearance eligibility are also desirable.
