Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Controls Assurance Specialist to join the UKPI Controls Assurance team. You will lead end-to-end assurance across Financial Adviser Services, Regulatory Operations, Operational Resilience and Third-Party Risk Management, shaping test plans and reporting findings to senior stakeholders.

This hybrid role involves travel to London and Dublin offices and requires delivering clear, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen controls and enhance governance across Vanguard’s

Qualifications

• Proven experience in risk, control, audit, or governance functions.
• Strong analytical and report writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Familiarity with financial services, retail investment, or regulatory environments.
• Experience with data analytics tools and technology controls testing is highly desirable.
• Background in internal or external audit is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed test plans to assess the design and operational effectiveness of controls.
• Identify control gaps and assess remediation efforts to ensure risks are fully mitigated and controls are sustainable.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and senior leaders, providing actionable recommendations.
• Maintain a central repository of assurance documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practice in control and controls testing, ensuring alignment and proactive adaptation of the framework.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, simplify processes, and enhance efficiency.
• Support the development and enhancement of control policies and procedures.
• Some travel to London and Dublin offices will be required.
