Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Job Title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Coventry - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: 45,000+ depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the vehicle control solution and strategy.
  • Work with the engineering manager on system delivery, reporting progress through agile tools.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the engineering plan.
  • Develop technical solutions with the Engineering Delivery Team and support team development.
  • Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions based on existing designs.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience in developing C&I designs for large-scale systems, meeting various standards.
  • Managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock to industrial standards.
  • Experience in authoring/reviewing design documents such as I/O schedules, FDS, interface control documents.
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science.

Desirable:

  • Understanding control system architectures and communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS).
  • Experience with IEC 61508 or similar functional safety standards.
  • Experience with manoeuvring systems across industries.
