Job summary

Axis CLC Group is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead a portfolio of contracts across London and the Southeast. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while driving profitability and client relationships.

You will oversee contract governance, commercial strategy, and cross-functional resource planning to optimise delivery and performance across multiple sites within housing and public services sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading multi-contract portfolios or large-scale programmes.
• Extensive experience managing planned maintenance or social housing contracts.
• Deep understanding of contract management and financial governance.
• Strong knowledge of social housing regulations and compliance.
• CDM, Health & Safety and Building Safety Act knowledge.
• Data-driven performance management and KPI governance experience.
• Budgeting, forecasting and risk management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a portfolio of contracts across regions; sets delivery strategy and ensures alignment with organisational objectives.
• Acts as senior strategic partner to clients; leads contract governance boards; shape long term partnership models and commercial strategy.
• Own multi-contract financial strategy; drive commercial performance; lead forecasting, risk management, and commercial governance.
• Oversee cross-contract resource planning; optimise workforce deployment; lead strategic programme recovery and optimisation.
• Lead quality strategy across contracts; drive defect reduction programmes; set technical standards and governance frameworks.
• Lead performance governance across contracts; set KPI frameworks; drive data-led decision making and continuous improvement.
• Lead cross-departmental alignment; represent the business at senior forums; influence organisational decision making.
• Lead bid strategy; shape commercial propositions; identify new markets; contribute to long term business growth planning.

The Role

About You

• Strong knowledge of social housing regulations, compliance frameworks, and sector wide best practice.
• Advanced understanding of CDM, Health & Safety legislation, and Building Safety Act requirements.
• Knowledge of procurement strategy, supply chain development, and commercial negotiation.
• Strong understanding of data driven performance management and KPI governance.
• Broad technical knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and planned works.
• Confident presenting to senior stakeholders, governance boards, and clients.
• Strong commercial experience including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• Experience leading managers, developing teams, and shaping organisational culture.
• Demonstrated success in driving performance improvement and operational excellence.
