We are currently supporting a well-established organisation based in South Birmingham in their search for a Senior Contract Accountant. This is a key role within a commercially focused finance team that plays an integral part in driving strategic decision-making and improving financial performance across the business.

This position offers a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner with senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decisions, identifying financial risks and growth opportunities.
2. Attend client and site meetings to maintain a strong understanding of business priorities and ensure financial alignment.
3. Provide detailed and insightful financial analysis to support business unit performance and decision-making.
4. Manage and maintain accurate balance sheets, escalating any significant risks.
5. Prepare comprehensive financial reports including month-end close, business performance reviews, budgeting, and cash flow analysis for senior leadership.
6. Guide and support operational teams in interpreting financial reports and improving their financial performance.
7. Conduct thorough monthly balance sheet reviews and present key findings to leadership.
8. Drive effective working capital management through timely invoicing and proactive debt resolution.
9. Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate consolidation and meaningful variance analysis.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Actively studying towards a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification, and approaching completion.
2. Significant experience in management accounting, including preparation of reports and analysis for commercial use.
3. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for a non-financial audience.
4. Highly analytical with meticulous attention to detail.
5. Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
6. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems.
