Job Summary

The successful candidate will join the innovative specialist nursing speciality within a highly motivated Continence Service. The team consists of nurses and an administrative secretary . They will also be working closely with the Consultant Urologists from the specialist centre from Stepping Hill providing support for patients in primary and secondary care.

They will also be working closely with the Consultant Urologists from the specialist centre from Stepping Hill providing support for patients in primary and secondary care.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Senior Continence Specialist Nurse will be to offer high level clinical assessments and reviews to patients in a nurse led community clinic and in their own home, implementing a clinical care plan to support the patient in their home environment.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of understanding of bladder and bowel conditions and associated disorders and be able to translate that into practice.

They will be expected to demonstrate that they can monitor and improve standards of care through audit and supervision, evidence based practice, learning and development.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

Education & Qualifications

  • Evidence of continuing professional development including relevant attendance at postgraduate courses and conferences in nursing.
  • Valid Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

  • Post-graduate course in Continence, Urology or similar
