Job Description

Content designers make services easier for people to understand and use. You could work on a single piece of content or an end-to-end service journey to help users achieve their goals. You will collaborate with organizations to understand their goals, improve user journeys, content quality, and services.

You will work closely with other disciplines within agile teams, including user researchers, service designers, interaction designers, as well as stakeholders like service owners and policy teams.

This is a contract role with a key Public Sector client. We are seeking candidates with recent GDS experience, available to start within the next two weeks or soon thereafter.

Qualifications

• Understanding of agile methodologies and applying agile ways of working in content design. Ability to work in fast-paced environments using iterative approaches. Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Heroku.
• Stakeholder management skills, including building relationships, tailoring communication, and representing user interests to stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking, including evaluating strategies and policies to meet user and organizational needs.
• User focus, translating research insights into content and design solutions.
• Experience in user-centred content design, making complex information accessible and compliant with government accessibility standards.
• Prototyping skills, collaborating with research, design, and development teams to visualize content in context.
