Job description

Principle duties/requirements

Client service:

  • Lead, build, and maintain excellent relationships with clients, providing ongoing consultation and counsel on a peer-to-peer basis.
  • Develop strong, effective scientific, creative, and commercial strategies and programmes aligned with client objectives. Recognize each client's challenges as unique and a shared journey with Arc Bio Communications.
  • Create robust, relevant, and evidence-based solutions.
  • Focus on producing high-standard, client-ready work efficiently and timely.
  • Build enduring relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Maintain professionalism and competence in all client communications.
  • Develop high-quality business proposals for both new and existing clients.
  • Grow existing accounts organically through quality work and ongoing client discussions.
  • Network outside Arc Bio, attend industry events, and generate new business leads, representing Arc Bio.
  • Drive new business opportunities for existing and new clients.

Project Management:

  • Demonstrate systematized process, time management, and accurate project planning.
  • Produce accurate cost estimates and control budgets, keeping clients and team informed of overspends.
  • Manage finances and budgets per agency procedures, explaining expenditures to clients before approval.
  • Prioritize regulatory compliance and minimize risks.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, strategic thinking, and detail accuracy.
  • Competently use all in-house software and platforms.

Leadership:

  • Delegate effectively, prioritize tasks, and provide clear direction for project teams.
  • Develop team members through tailored feedback and guidance.
  • Embrace and act on feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Generate team buy-in, recognize contributions, and ensure decision consistency.
  • Take accountability for team outcomes, fostering commitment and motivation.
  • Facilitate communication between teams and clients.
  • Support and challenge colleagues constructively.

Communication and impact:

  • Present confidently and convincingly to clients.
  • Influence, negotiate, and address objections from senior stakeholders.
  • Adapt communication styles to different audiences to secure buy-in.

  • Possess strong technical knowledge and authority in at least three relevant areas, especially for Senior Consultants.

Industry:

  • Stay informed about factors influencing pharma and biotech sectors, including M&A activity and innovation strategies.
  • Understand industry mechanics, company valuation factors, and financial basics.
  • Engage in industry scanning, maintain current knowledge of opportunities, and utilize findings for strategic advantages.

Scientific:

  • Possess strong knowledge of clients’ scientific areas.
  • Commit to expanding expertise in modalities, epidemiology, clinical trial design, etc.
  • Challenge client thinking constructively and produce innovative scientific perspectives.
  • Keep abreast of developments from key congresses, experts, and trends like genomics and AI.

Strategy:

  • Discuss strategy confidently in relation to client goals.
  • Understand and apply theoretical models used in strategy consulting.
  • Integrate relevant theories into client challenges and participate in strategic development and workshops.

Marketing and communications:

  • Understand healthcare marketing principles, including PR, medical education, and scientific communication, and explore social and digital strategies.
  • Apply new marketing theories and tools, understanding KPIs and evaluation methods.
  • Comprehend ethical practices in healthcare marketing.
