Job Description

Role Overview

Sitting within the Performance Marketing team, you'll be the recognised SEO & GEO subject matter expert for P&O Cruises. Working across Commercial, Digital, Technology and external agency partners, you'll use strategic thinking, technical expertise and advanced analytics to strengthen organic performance, customer experience and commercial outcomes. You'll play a key role in shaping how customers discover and engage with P&O Cruises through both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search experiences. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Marketing, you'll lead significant SEO & GEO initiatives while providing specialist expertise across the wider Marketing function.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEO professional looking to take ownership of a high-profile SEO & GEO strategy within a leading travel and leisure brand, directly influencing digital visibility, customer acquisition and commercial performance.

This pivotal role will involve:

Developing and delivering the P&O Cruises SEO & GEO roadmap to increase organic visibility, qualified traffic and commercial performance.

Identifying, prioritising and resolving technical SEO challenges across the digital estate, improving site performance, search visibility and conversion.

Analysing organic search performance, customer behaviour and website traffic to provide actionable recommendations.

Embedding SEO best practice across campaigns, content, site optimisation and customer acquisition activity while leading external agency relationships

Leading the optimisation of both traditional organic search and emerging Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) opportunities across the P&O Cruises digital estate.

Providing SEO expertise, guidance and education to stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial, Digital and Technology teams.

Driving continuous improvement through competitor analysis, industry developments, search engine updates and emerging AI search technologies.

Collaborating with agency partners and internal teams to deliver authority-building, digital PR and organic growth initiatives.

This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time, permanent basis. We offer hybrid working, with an expectation of three days per week in our Southampton office and up to two days working from home.

What You’ll Bring

Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:

  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush and Screaming Frog.

  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across Content, Marketing, Product, Technology and external partners.

  • Experience delivering authority-building, digital PR and link-building strategies to improve organic visibility and website performance.

  • Knowledge of emerging AI search technologies, Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and evolving search behaviours.

About You: The Ideal Candidate

You are more than just your CV. You're someone who brings:

  • A strategic and commercially focused mindset, with the ability to translate SEO and GEO opportunities into clear business outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using multiple data sources to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.

  • A collaborative and influential approach, with the confidence to provide expert guidance and communicate complex insights clearly.

  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, keeping pace with search engine updates, AI search trends and evolving SEO best practice.

  • The ability to influence and lead through expertise, building strong relationships and driving outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups without direct management responsibility.
