Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to work in our Real Estate Consulting (REC) team. We work with health and social care clients nationally to identify and test the feasibility of real estate investment opportunities; helping clients to build up the case for change and make the best real estate investment decisions.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in planning and developing healthcare estate and infrastructure projects and programmes. Additionally, experience in developing healthcare estate strategies, authoring business cases using the HM Treasury 5 case model, and understanding the business case development process from Project Initiation to Full Business Case are essential.

You & Your background

We seek a highly motivated, flexible individual with excellent communication skills who can engage with clients at all levels and nurture relationships. Specifically, you will:

• Be experienced in preparing business cases (SOC / OBC / FBC), estate/property strategies, property target operating models, and change management.
• Hold a relevant real estate industry qualification or have equivalent experience.
• Have experience working in client-side and consultancy environments.
• Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in managing client relationships.
• Be financially literate with a good commercial understanding and financial analysis skills.
• Understand and integrate commercial, strategic, and operational perspectives.
• Be persuasive, confident in challenging and influencing decisions.
• Demonstrate programme and project management skills, including capital projects and contract management.
• Be competent in handling datasets and analyzing/presenting data to support solutions.
• Be a team player, collaborative, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Be flexible to travel and adapt to new sectors or environments.

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualification
• Project Management Qualification (e.g., Prince2, MSP) or relevant experience
• Business case writing skills or equivalent experience
• Experience managing change across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of the HM Treasury 5 case model and supporting business case development
• Experience working with large and complex data sets
• Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and influencing skills
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing requirements
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently
• Understanding of good data management practices

Desirable

• Industry qualifications in Surveying, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Better Business Case Accreditation
• Experience with strategic infrastructure programs in large organizations
• Experience as a project manager in health or social care sectors
• Ability to lead and develop business cases for major capital investments
• Initiative and resilience in challenging situations
• Proficiency with data tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI) for analysis and evidence-based solutions
