Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to work in our Real Estate Consulting (REC) team. We work with health and social care clients nationally to identify and test the feasibility of real estate investment opportunities; helping clients to build up the case for change and make the best real estate investment decisions.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in planning and developing healthcare estate and infrastructure projects and programmes. In addition, you will have supported the development of healthcare estate strategies, authored business cases using the HM Treasury 5 case model, and have a robust understanding of the business case development stages from Project Initiation to Full Business Case.

You & Your background

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, flexible, and has excellent communication skills. You will be able to engage with clients at all levels and be passionate about nurturing such relationships. Specifically, you will:

• Be experienced in preparing business cases (SOC / OBC / FBC), estate/property strategies, property target operating models, and change management.
• Hold relevant real estate industry qualifications or experience.
• Have experience in client-side and consultancy environments.
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident in managing client relationships.
• Be financially literate with good commercial understanding and financial analysis capabilities.
• Understand and combine commercial, strategic, and operational perspectives.
• Be persuasive, able to challenge, debate, and influence key decisions.
• Demonstrate programme and project management skills, including capital projects and contract management.
• Be competent in handling data sets and analyzing/presenting data to support solutions.
• Be a team player, collaborative, confident with others, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Be flexible to travel as required and willing to work in new sectors or environments.

Qualifications

Essential

• Relevant professional qualification: Bachelor's degree
• Project Management Qualification e.g., Prince 2 or MSP or equivalent experience
• Business Case Writing skills or equivalent experience
• Experience managing change across multi-disciplinary teams
• Project planning and organizational skills, including working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of the HM Treasury 5 case model and supporting business case development
• Experience working with large, complex datasets
• Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and influencing skills
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to project requirements
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently
• Understanding of good data management practices

Desirable

• Relevant industry qualifications – Surveying, Engineering, Financial, Accounting
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Better Business Case Accreditation
• Experience with strategic infrastructure programs in large/complex organizations
• Experience as a project manager in Health or Social Care services
• Ability to lead and develop Business Cases for major capital investments
• Initiative and resilience to handle challenges and resistance
• Proficiency in data tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI) for analysis and evidence-based solutions
