Job summary

St Andrew's Healthcare in Birmingham is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our secure inpatient service on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week. The role combines senior clinical leadership with direct patient care in Low Secure Services at our Birmingham site.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee assessments and treatment for adults with complex mental health needs, contribute to governance, research, and service development, and participate in the on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Must have Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
• CCT in Forensic or General Adult Psychiatry (or within six months).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership as Responsible Clinician for a ward.
• Oversee assessment, treatment and recovery-focused care for adults with complex needs.
• Lead MDT collaboration to deliver high-quality care.
• Contribute to referrals, admissions, governance and strategy.
• Participate in on-call rota (one week in six).
