Job summary

NHS Jobs is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist for Wantage Community Hospital, part-time (0.8 FTE). The role involves direct assessment and treatment of adults with complex mental health needs, with senior clinical oversight of the caseload through MDT discussions and care planning.

Based at Wantage Community Hospital, you will work with a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and support for decision-making, referrals triage, and coordination of care across the PCMHT and CMHT services.

Qualifications

• Qualified psychiatrist with GMC registration is required.
• Experience in community mental health teams is preferred.
• Experience in leadership and MDT coordination is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assessment and treatment of adults with complex mental illness.
• Offer senior clinical oversight of the caseload through MDT discussion and care planning.
• Lead clinical governance and decision-making with the Team Manager and Operational Manager.
• Triage referrals, allocate patients for assessment and manage clinic scheduling.
