Senior Consultant / Project Manager

Lewis Davey has a Senior level Project Manager opportunity that will offer someone the opportunity to lead key corporate clients, principally in manufacturing, retail and financial services. We are looking to speak with sustainability professionals who are competent in the reporting space and can lead the delivery of consultancy services with a focus on climate-related disclosures and the organisational change aspects of net zero strategy. Someone who is familiar with and can engage with a wide range of key stakeholders on a day-to-day basis and play a pivotal role in managing clients’ sustainability risks and realising opportunities. The successful person will also need to be familiar with business development, service development responsibilities and marketing activities.

The role
  • Leading and assisting clients with climate disclosures (CDP, CSRD, TCFD/ISSB).
  • Helping clients navigate and prepare for emerging regulatory requirements, such as Climate Transition Plans and EU Directive alignment (CSRD, CSDDD).
  • Providing strategic advice and analytical services around wider climate-related needs such as GHG accounting, science-based target setting, decarbonisation plans, communications and other ESG related ambitions.
  • Working alongside the technical teams to provide holistic net zero support to clients e.g. considering the governance and organisational change aspects of Climate Transition Plans.
What you’ll contribute
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with our existing corporate clients and build new relationships to win further work including cross-selling a full range of services.
  • Manage consultancy projects to ensure delivery to clients on time, to quality and within agreed budgets. Manage the delivery of the clients’ sustainability objectives and act as a confident agent of change to help ensure they continue to be market leaders in ESG.
  • Technical/regulatory input: Track the evolving requirements of mandatory and voluntary climate-related disclosures of relevance to the corporate clients, such as CDP, TCFD/ISSB, CSRD, Climate Transition Plans.
  • Strategic Service Development: Work with the Head of Service to develop services in line with changes to the sector, policy, the economy, etc. to ensure they remain competitive.
  • Identify opportunities for sales and business development, progressing these to written proposals to meet clients’ needs and achieve sales targets.
  • Operational - provide timely responses to operational needs including invoicing, reviews, project management information, time-sheeting, health & safety, etc.
  • Environmental: Contribute to sustainability targets and internal CSR team objectives when required.
Education/Qualifications

Essential: Degree (or equivalent) in geography, economics, sciences, environmental, engineering or equivalent and relevant areas demonstrating qualitative and quantitative skills.

Desirable: Masters/relevant post-graduate qualification; Member of professional institution i.e. IEMA; Project Management qualification i.e. APMP.

What you’ll need to succeed

Essential: Experience of:

  • Managing projects/programmes, project teams & delivering to deadlines - key account management and new business development with clients - corporate net zero strategy and climate disclosures.
  • Engaging successfully with senior stakeholders in client businesses.
  • Leading, facilitating & presenting at workshops.

Desirable: Experience of:

  • Managing bids and bid teams and delivering proposals to deadlines.
  • Policy & impact analysis from client perspective.
  • Advising clients on strategic risks and opportunities, such as policy impact assessments or risks and opportunity appraisals.
  • Completing voluntary reporting submissions.
  • Presenting at external seminars and conferences.

Skills/competencies

Essential:

  • Excellent programme and project management skills.
  • Sophisticated analytical approach.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively on challenging research problems.
  • Demonstrable proactive long-term approach; planning & organisational skills.
  • High level of competence in the use of IT, including Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Strong communicator in both verbal and written formats, including messaging through innovative and effective graphics and presentation of analysis.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and other Office 365 products.
