Full time starting salary is normally in the range £57,422 to £66,537 with potential progression once in post to £86,760

People and Organisational Development (POD) provides specialist support in organisational development, leadership, and management training, including coaching and apprenticeships.

Role Summary

The role focuses on developing the skills and capabilities of the university’s workforce, supporting the university’s strategy, and advising senior stakeholders on organisational development issues.

Main Duties
  • Lead organisational development initiatives aligned with university priorities.
  • Support the Director of POD and deputize when needed.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-HR projects and ensure quality of interventions.
  • Advise senior colleagues on POD challenges and opportunities.
  • Design and implement development projects and leadership programmes.
  • Support coaching initiatives and talent development.
  • Assist leaders through periods of change.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification, or substantial experience.
  • Expertise in organisational development and L&D interventions.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills at senior levels.
  • Knowledge of learning cycles, needs analysis, and evaluation.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
  • IT proficiency, including MS Office.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, and work independently.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable
  • Coaching accreditation and psychometric certification (e.g., MBTI, SDI).
Additional Information

This is a mid-senior level, full-time role with authority over professional advice and resource management. The role involves strategic planning, problem-solving, and influencing policy and practice across the university.
