Penguin Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join its UK-wide team, leading environmental assessments across HRA, EIA, LVIA, ecology or landscape.

The role covers Cheltenham HQ with remote and hybrid options, offering flexible working to suit the candidate. You will work with local authorities and statutory consultees, shaping planning policy to balance development with environmental protection while mentoring junior colleagues and supporting business growth and

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental consultancy or local authority planning.
• Hands-on experience delivering or coordinating HRA, EIA or LVIA for local plans or planning applications.
• A sound understanding of UK planning legislation and environmental assessment regulations.
• Excellent report-writing skills and the ability to produce robust, technically accurate assessments.
• Chartered status such as MRTPI, MCIEEM, CMLI, CEnv or MIEMA, or working towards it.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and managing projects would be advantageous.
• GIS skills, including QGIS or ArcGIS, are a bonus.

An established specialist environmental planning consultancy is looking for a Senior Consultant to join its growing team, working across Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), ecology or landscape.

You’ll take the lead on complex environmental assessments, work closely with local authorities and statutory consultees, and help shape planning policy that balances development with environmental protection. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to business development and play a key role in delivering projects that support both growth and nature recovery.

What We're Looking For
