POSITION: Senior Consultant Drilling & Wells (D&W) Material Management
BUSINESS UNIT: Procurement and Supplier Relations (PSR)
PROFESSION/SKILLS: Materials Management
LOCATION: Aberdeen, UK

This position is for our oil and gas operator client.

The Position

Procurement and Supplier Relations (PSR) is responsible for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) process, ensuring the safe and efficient supply of products and services to all our operations and development projects.

Tasks/Responsibilities of Senior Consultant Drilling & Wells (D&W) Materials Management
  1. Plan and coordinate the readiness and availability of materials and equipment throughout the supply chain, understanding work requirements, ensuring on-time delivery, and planning vessel & deck space availability for D&W operations to ensure cost-effective, secure, and efficient drilling activities.
  2. Serve as the link between drilling and well operations, suppliers, and internal services such as base logistics and helicopter operations.
  3. Manage, review, and support the implementation of the materials management strategy for the UK, including inventory optimisation, supporting operational needs (drilling, wells, maintenance, modifications), and providing training and guidance to business areas.
  4. Review equipment management methodologies, manage third-party storage sites, promote best practices in stock control, and reconcile inventory discrepancies during counts and report reviews.
  5. Oversee inventory levels, liaise with legal, tax, and finance departments to ensure compliance with company disposal and resale policies.
  6. Participate in on-call duty rotations; occasional visits to offshore installations or rigs may be required.

  • Strong communication skills.
