SYSTRA Consultancy is hiring! We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Consultant in our Passenger Transport team. We offer flexible hybrid working, focusing on innovative projects for our strategic clients. Candidates can be based at any of our offices in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds. The role involves delivering Bus Team projects across the UK, working closely with the existing team to provide flexible, responsive client service.

Successful candidates will join a small team providing advice and technical support on smart ticketing initiatives, fares, ticketing products, network planning, and operational optimisation.

Typical projects include working directly with clients, developing smart ticketing schemes, managing delivery, providing technical support, and testing. The bus operations team offers advice on optimising bus networks and operations through market research and network simulations.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the technical delivery of bus operations, network planning, and ticketing/information projects
• Direct client liaison to confirm requirements and ensure needs are met
• Delivering technical solutions independently or as part of a team
• Engaging with clients to discuss future needs and securing new business
• Continuously developing personal skills to stay ahead of emerging techniques and technologies
• Supporting other sectors within SYSTRA to deliver public transport elements in wider projects
• Project management

• Communicating client and project objectives effectively
• Ensuring model quality for investment and transaction decisions
• Preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations

Experience Required:

• A degree in a relevant subject (Transport Planning, Maths, Science) or a Master's in Transport Planning, or equivalent experience
• Significant bus operations experience, including network planning and commercial skills
• Experience in delivering ticketing and/or information projects
• Direct client engagement, including on-site secondments
• Strong report and proposal writing skills
• Established relationships with public and private sector clients
• Flexibility and ability to manage multiple project demands
