CleanTech Talent are hiring for a Consultant or Senior level Environmental Consultant with an ecology background seeking to move away from the weekly onsite work and travel.

This is for a long-standing reputable client supporting the renewable energy sector, infrastructure, ports & harbours and more in Scotland.

What will you be doing?

You will be joining the highly respected team to assist in the delivery of onsite environmental and ecological auditing and an advisory role mainly on renewable energy and road infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will work closely with colleagues, and industry partners in other technical disciplines, to assist in the delivery of project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management of construction & ecology based projects
  • Continue developing your ecology experience across habitats and reporting
  • Support the construction support services team with projects across Scotland
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders
  • Managing and communicating with key stakeholders whilst encouraging a high level of environmental protection
  • Using Microsoft Word and Excel, digital photography and infield technology
  • Operate in a variety of environments such as remote areas or operational construction sites
  • Supporting office management and administrative tasks

Key Competencies

  • 4+ years relevant industry experience within consulting, project management, ecology or similar disciplines
  • Under/postgraduate degree in Ecology, Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • Experience of working under Scottish and/or UK legislation
  • Desireable: Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and/or of the Association of Environmental and Ecological Clerks of Works (AEECoW)
  • Confident in habitat and protected species ecology
  • An understanding of current environmental legislation, policy trends, guidance and regulatory frameworks
  • The ability to work as a team and individually
  • Good time management and record keeping
  • A full UK drivers licence
  • The ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle safely is desirable.
