Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our PMC team in London, delivering high-quality projects from inception to completion and growing our client base.

You will maintain strong relationships with architects, clients and subcontractors, lead HSQ&E, manage resources and procurement, and ensure delivery within budget and schedule while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Senior Construction Manager with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction procedures.
• MCIOB and related degree; up-to-date health and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Clients, Sub-contractors and project team.
• Maintain professional relationships with third-party stakeholders.
• Uphold company reputation by delivering safely on time, within budget and to high quality.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with current legislation.
• Optimize use of resources: labour, plant, sub-contractors, materials.
• Coordinate procurement schedule with the construction programme.
• Oversee sub-contractors and suppliers appointments.
• Lead on HSQ&E with the HSQ&E team.
• Organize team structure for efficient resource use.
• Collaborate with project commercial team to stay within cost plan.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join T&T's new PMC team in London. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality projects for our clients, from inception to completion, and contribute to business growth by fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

As a Senior Construction Manager, you will:

• Maintain good relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Clients, Sub-contractors, and other professional members of the project team.
• Maintain professional working relationships with all third-party stakeholders.
• Maintain the reputation of the company for the collaborative approach, delivering safely on time, within budget, with quality of finish and defect free.
• Ensure safe working practices at all times and compliance with all current legislation.
• Ensure the most effective use of resources at our disposal, including labour, plant, sub-contractors, and materials.
• Ensure that the procurement schedule is produced and aligned with the construction programme.
• Oversee the appointment of all sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Oversee the preparation and management of the construction phase health and safety plan.
• Lead on Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQ&E), ensuring best practice is adopted and compliance with legislation, working closely with the HSQ&E team.
• Organize the team structure to optimize the most efficient use of resources.
• Work closely with the project commercial team to ensure the project is delivered within the approved cost plan.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Construction Manager with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
• Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of construction procedures.
• MCIOB and degree qualified in a related subject.
• Up-to-date knowledge of building legislation and Health and Safety legislation.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
