Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead site delivery on defence facilities and secure government projects across London and the Home Counties. The role reports to the Project Director with autonomy to run projects and a proven track record in high-compliance environments.

Salary £60,000–£75,000 (DOE) with a £5,000 car allowance, 10% balanced scorecard bonus, health cover, pension and progression sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager in defence or secure environments.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, safety and project management.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Proficiency with SharePoint and business systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Job description

This is a chance to lead site delivery on the kind of projects most Construction Managers never get near. Defence facilities, government estates and other secure environments across London and the Home Counties, delivered by a growing main contractor that has built its reputation on complex, high-compliance work.

Established in 2018, the business has grown to around 30 permanent staff and works on schemes typically between £4 million and £10 million. Projects cover secure fit-outs, refurbishments and bespoke builds, all delivered to standards that would floor most contractors. This is technical, trust-driven construction with a genuine sense of purpose behind it.

Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Senior Construction Manager takes the lead on site delivery, backed by a strong central team and given the autonomy to run projects properly. Senior Construction Manager Job Overview

• Support the Project Manager to plan, schedule and oversee all phases of construction projects

• Trades background considered
• Solid understanding of construction processes, sequencing and delivery risks
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and project management
• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field is desirable
• Proficiency in SharePoint and business systems
• CSCS Black Card or equivalent
• SMSTS Certification
• Eligible for or currently holding UK Security Clearance (SC or DV)
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to commute to sites across London and the Home Counties
