Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in delivering large-scale energy projects, ideally within the renewable, solar PV or BESS sectors in line with UK regulatory and quality standards. As a key member of our UK&I leadership team, you will be instrumental in developing our site construction management strategy, building our site manage structure and team and ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of EPC projects.

Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the site execution and construction management of renewable energy projects (primarily Solar PV and BESS) from mobilisation to commissioning across multiple UK sites.
  • Build and manage site teams including subcontractors, site engineers, and logistics coordinators to ensure construction excellence.
  • Develop and improve Intec Energy Solutions' UK&I systems, processes and training for mobilisation and construction
  • Oversee compliance with UK CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and quality management systems.
  • Work with the PMs to monitor project progress and timelines, and provide regular reporting to the UK management team.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure all construction activities are well-sequenced and resourced.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability across construction delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as suppliers, local authorities, grid operators (e.g., DNOs/NGESO), landowners etc.
  • Support due diligence activities, site assessments, and construction planning for future pipeline projects in the UK.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10yrs experience in Construction Management, within Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related sector. Ideally degree qualified, however equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Extensive relevant experience in the construction of energy projects within the UK..
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction legislation, CDM regulations, and NEC/FIDIC contract administration.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Construction training/qualification such as valid CSCS card (Black or White), SMSTS or equivalent,
  • A Health & Safety training/qualification would be preferential.
  • A full clean UK driving licence.
  • A passion for sustainability and environmental solutions.
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
