Job summary

Omexom is recruiting a General Foreperson to provide senior on-site supervision for transmission construction projects in the UK. You will coordinate multiple crews, subcontractors and trades, ensuring work meets technical standards and safety requirements while monitoring costs and schedules.

The role requires a CSCS card, First Aid at Work, 5+ years of supervisory experience and strong reading of drawings.

Qualifications

• CSCS card (preferably Supervisory/Manager level).
• First Aid at Work certification or willingness to obtain.
• 5+ years’ experience as a site foreperson or in a similar supervisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of construction trades (groundworks, civil engineering, steel fixing).
• Deep understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, risk assessments and method statements.
• Proven ability to read technical drawings, plan work schedules, and manage budgets.
• Competence in using computer programs for reporting and email.
• Ability to supervise multiple teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for daily briefings and client liaison.
• Strong critical thinking and organisational skills; full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities, directing construction workers and managing subcontractor performance.
• Enforce health and safety legislation, conduct inductions and daily briefings, maintain safety records.
• Develop work schedules, coordinate resource allocation, and monitor progress against the programme.
• Inspect work for compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Order materials, manage on-site inventory, and monitor costs to align with budget.
• Maintain daily site records, track progress, and report to senior managers.
• Resolve technical problems, equipment issues and trade conflicts to prevent delays.
