Job summary

Scandit is seeking a Senior Computer Vision/Machine Learning Engineer to lead the technical discovery and early development of a new CV/ML solution. You will validate risky assumptions and build end-to-end prototypes using real-world video data from live retail environments, collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.

You will work on cutting-edge CV/ML research with production constraints, shaping best practices while driving experiments

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning, including designing, training, evaluating and deploying models in production.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g. product, backend, data, operations) and communicate complex technical topics clearly in English.
• Proven track record of building end-to-end CV/ML systems from 0→1 (commercial products preferred).
• Solid software engineering skills (Python and modern ML/CV frameworks) with real-world, noisy data

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and early development of Scandit's new CV/ML solution from validation to prototypes.
• Define and prioritize technical experiments to validate risks (precision, recall, latency) for CV models in retail stores.
• Design and implement end-to-end CV/ML pipelines from data ingestion to deployment.
• Set up and refine human annotation workflows for training/testing datasets from video streams.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering leaders to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
• Select and optimize state-of-the-art CV architectures for action detection in unconstrained environments.
• Provide technical leadership in video-based CV applications and help shape future hiring.
