Job summary

Avove is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join the Design function in Derby with hybrid working between office, site attendance, and home-based work.

You will support the Design Lead/CAD Manager, undertake design and modelling using Autodesk Civil 3D and other software, and contribute to AutoCAD drawing production and project documentation. The role requires an HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent and knowledge of Autodesk tools. Sponsorship under Skilled Worker visa is not available.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks and MS Office.
• Basic understanding of project management in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Work to project controls, guidelines and procedures.
• Support the Design Lead/CAD Manager and team in design tasks.
• Undertake design and modelling using Autodesk Civil 3D or other software; support BIM procedures.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings in line with CAD procedures.
• Assist with production of project documentation and reports.

We're looking for a Senior CAD Technician to work within our Design function.

Location:

Derby - This role offers hybrid working, combining office and site attendance with home-based working.

Contract Type:

Permanent

Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Senior CAD Technician to join our Design team.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, with a strong technical background and the ability to contribute to the delivery of high-quality design solutions. Experience within the water or utilities sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Work to project controls, guidelines and procedures
• Support the Design Lead/CAD Manager and other team members in undertaking a wide range of design related tasks
• Undertake design, and modelling activities using Autodesk Civil 3D or other third-party software packages where appropriate (ie. Autodesk Revit, Navisworks)
• Supporting the adherence of BIM Procedures on relevant projects
• Production of AutoCAD drawings in accordance with the CAD procedures
• Assisting with the production of project documentation, and reports

About you:

• HNC/HND in Engineering, or relevant discipline (or a similar approved qualification)
• Computer literate and conversant with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Navisworks and associated 3rd party packages, and MS Office suite
• Basic project management understanding in a multi-disciplinary project environment

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa process. Applicants must therefore have, and maintain, an alternative right to work for the duration of employment.
