Job summary

Avove is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join our Design function in a hybrid Derby-based role. You will support the Design Lead and CAD Manager, undertaking design and modelling tasks using Civil 3D and related tools, while ensuring BIM procedures are followed and CAD standards are applied.

The role requires an engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent), experience with Civil 3D/Navisworks, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality design outputs.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Engineering, or relevant discipline (or a similar approved qualification).
• Proficient with Civil 3D, Navisworks and associated 3rd party packages, and MS Office.
• Basic project management understanding in a multi-disciplinary project environment.

Responsibilities

• Work to project controls, guidelines and procedures.
• Support the Design Lead/CAD Manager and team in undertaking a wide range of design tasks.
• Undertake design and modelling activities using Autodesk Civil 3D or other software packages.
• Support BIM procedures on relevant projects.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings in line with CAD procedures.
• Assist with production of project documentation and reports.
