Job summary

Candidates should have a doctoral degree and 5+ years of experience in cognitive/behavioral modeling, with strong coding and mathematical abilities and excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a field involving computational/mathematical modeling and cognitive/science behavioral science.
• At least 5 years of experience with a strong publication record in computational modeling of cognition/behavior.
• Strong coding and mathematical skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a technical leader in computational road user behavior modeling.
• Research and develop metrics and computational models of road user cognition and behavior.
• Work with Simulation and AI Foundations teams to productionize metrics/models in Waymo’s simulation infrastructure.
• Explore novel modeling concepts in research projects with external academic partners.
• Publish work in scientific journals and conferences.
