We are seeking an ambitious, experienced senior compliance professional to join the Amazon Payments Europe (APE) Compliance Office team to develop simple solutions for complex regulatory issues.

The Senior Compliance Manager plays a critical role within the APE Compliance Office, providing expertise, advice, and oversight related to payment services regulations.

Key job responsibilities

The Senior Compliance Manager ensures Amazon's operations and products comply with Payment Services Regulations and other legal requirements across the EU, especially Luxembourg. They serve as a subject matter expert, guiding and overseeing compliance risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Compliance: Identify and assess applicable EU and Luxembourg laws such as PSD2 and AML/CFT laws; conduct gap analyses; collaborate with Legal, Risk, and business teams to develop compliance policies.
• Compliance Advisory: Provide timely compliance advice; assess risks; guide the business on managing and mitigating compliance risks.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the key contact on regulatory topics; lead compliance projects; provide oversight on outsourcing, incident management, complaints handling, horizon scanning, and conflicts of interest.
• Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor compliance risks; collaborate with risk teams; assist with regulatory reporting to authorities like CSSF and BCL.
• Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver compliance training; promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness.

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of Payment Services Regulations, compliance frameworks, and best practices in the EU and Luxembourg.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in project management and delivering training programs.
• Professional certifications in compliance or risk management are preferred.

This role is vital in ensuring Amazon's products and operations meet regulatory standards, mitigate risks, and maintain a strong control environment.

A day in the life

The Senior Compliance Manager will:

• Map new regulations and perform gap analyses.
• Engage with stakeholders for compliance advice.
• Draft compliance requirements for new products.
• Update policies and communicate changes.
• Coordinate data collection for regulatory reports.

About the team

This role is part of the Luxembourg-based Amazon Payments Europe (APE) Compliance team, responsible for providing second-line compliance advisory and oversight for Amazon's financial services activities in the EU.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, or risk.
• Experience handling confidential information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional auditing or compliance credentials.
• Experience with SQL and Excel.
• Experience defining program requirements and leveraging data for improvements.
