Overview

ClearBank is undertaking a major transformation initiative under the banner of Build the Bank, focused on new initiatives and delivering these safely and quickly into our BAU (Run the Bank teams) without missing a beat on running the business. As a key player in our Build the Bank team we require an experienced regulatory compliance specialist to provide essential support, input, and oversight of first line recommendations with regards to conduct and compliance risk management, so that we continue to meet all our regulatory obligations. This role will be pivotal in supporting the build out of our new propositions, ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations, focusing on high priorities that will drive product expansion, revenue growth, and business scaling. The role requires understanding relevant regulatory compliance requirements and standards and the ability and subject matter expertise to practically apply them to new markets and product propositions. The role is ideal for an ambitious and intellectually agile compliance professional who has a delivery-focused mindset and a can-do attitude. Detailed responsibilities: this role requires you to adapt to dynamic environments and foster a client-focused and innovative culture, while effectively balancing operational and regulatory priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory compliance guidance and technical subject matter expertise for new products and propositions, from ideation and innovation through to customer onboarding.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the bank, providing awareness of conduct, compliance and regulatory expectations as they relate to the work of the Build the Bank team, to ensure good outcomes are achieved for both ClearBank and its customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for the 1st line.
  • Partner closely with the Financial Crime team.
  • Opine and provide guidance to the 1st line as they prepare customer facing guidance for corporate clients, covering customer services standards and procedures, data management and privacy guidelines, incident reporting processes and other administrative requirements as required by ClearBank.
  • Review and update existing internal policies and standards as required for embedded corporate clients, considering differences specifically in relation to regulated and non-regulated activities.
  • Support ad hoc tasks and projects within the Build the Bank team.

  • Regulatory and compliance technical expertise, including a deep understanding of the Payments Services Regulations, BCOBS, FSCS, Data Protection Regulation, DISP, SYSC, Consumer Duty, Vulnerable Customers, Open Banking, Financial Promotions and Conflicts of Interest.
  • 2nd line experience of policy writing.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage demanding workloads in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining high levels of quality and competency.
  • Strong verbal skills, with the ability to articulate complex requirements clearly.
  • Excellent written skills, with attention to detail and experience writing operational procedures, standards and guidance.
  • A team player mentality with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a network of contacts across the bank and externally.
