Job summary

G2 Legal is seeking a Company Secretary Manager in Birmingham with a strong background in corporate governance to lead the secretarial function. The role offers hybrid working and a pathway to senior advisory responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have CGI/ICSA qualification (or Law degree) and proven experience in managing a CoSec team, client relationships, and strategic service growth within a professional services setting.

Qualifications

• Strong background in a company secretarial leadership role or corporate legal background.
• Deep knowledge of the Companies Act 2006, ECCTA, and statutory compliance.
• Qualification with CGI/ICSA or a Law degree preferred.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing a service line's financial performance (fee proposals, WIP, invoicing).
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to advise senior stakeholders and large clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the CoSec team and oversee work allocation for efficient service delivery.
• Drive strategic growth of the CoSec offering, leveraging legal tech, AI and process improvements.
• Act as technical governance lead on complex matters including director duties and statutory registers.
