Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Company Reporting Accountant in our UK Finance team. An exciting position has become available to join the Sompo UK Reporting team and contribute to the exceptional performance of our business. Reporting directly to the Head of Company Reporting, this role will focus on the production of Financial Statements (UK GAAP) and Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting.

Our business, your impact, our opportunity:

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure timely delivery and high-quality standards of Solvency II Pillar III reporting, coordinating with teams including Technical Accounting, Actuarial, Finance Operations, FP&A, Tax, and Group Risk to ensure consistency.
• Prepare year-end UK GAAP Financial Statements for EWIL.
• Lead the production of the SFCR for all entities, managing the timetable and external audit process.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact on reporting.
• Evaluate current processes and data quality, implementing improvements as needed.
• Support internal and external audits by providing process information and addressing queries.
• Maintain documentation related to Pillar III processes of Solvency II Reporting.
• Assist in calculating the Solvency Capital Requirement using the Standard Formula.
• Collaborate on quarterly Executive Reporting, including financial analysis and commentary.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Assist with regulatory requests, including statistical returns for various bodies.
• Document and maintain controls and procedures.
• Seek process improvements and best practices.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting and finance transformation projects.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as required.

What you'll bring:

• Experience with SAP general ledger or equivalent system.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Proactive mindset with initiative to improve processes.
• Self-starter with organizational skills and ambition.
• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Previous Solvency II experience.
• Knowledge of SII Assist is advantageous.
