Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Council is recruiting for a Senior Community Safety Officer. We are seeking a self-motivated individual, who is outcome and partnership focussed, with a passion for improving community safety and reducing crime and disorder. The successful candidate will have significant experience of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) case management, and will work flexibly, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The role is varied, engaging, challenging and rewarding. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing ASB casework and/or providing consultation in ASB casework.
  • Delivering projects to achieve Community Safety objectives.
  • Leading multi-agency subgroups of the Community Safety Partnership.
  • Facilitating training for internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Carrying out ASB Case Reviews.
  • Managing access and appropriate use and development of an ASB Case Management System.
  • Preparing cases for legal intervention and representing the council in courts of law.
  • Handling safeguarding incidents appropriately.
  • Leading the delivery of Community Safety Partnership objectives .

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an experienced ASB casework manager and an individual that is able to operate with a good level of emotional intelligence with excellent communication skills. Someone with an ability to make skillful use of authority to achieve positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders. The successful applicant will be able to operate with autonomy and work collaboratively. You will respond well to feedback and capable of delivering an appropriate level of challenge to the practice of others at all professional levels, as required. Ideally you will have an understanding of trauma-informed practice and a track record of managing risk in complex casework including safeguarding.

You will be an asset to the Community Safety Partnership, helping to drive initiatives that reduce crime, disorder and ASB, working together with internal and external agencies, developing great working relationships and enhancing the integrity of the team. The role will provide opportunities for ongoing training and development.
