Are you an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse who would like the opportunity to be part of an innovative integrated Community Mental Health Service? Shropshire Community Mental Health service provides assessment and evidence-based interventions for people presenting with complex mental health difficulties that are significantly impacting their daily life alongside our partner organisations.

We are looking for a Senior Nurse Practitioner to join the team and work alongside our multi-disciplinary team, bringing expert secondary mental health knowledge and interventions to residents across North Shropshire.

You will encourage effective engagement with those presenting with complex mental health needs, utilising excellent communication skills while maintaining compassion and hope through every contact. We incorporate a trauma-informed psychological approach which aims to increase people’s independence, working towards an improved quality of life.

There is an emphasis on team-based multi-disciplinary decision-making which creates a supportive environment for staff. We also value a culture of active service and personal development for all staff.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner who wants to work and be part of our wider multi-disciplinary team that includes Community Mental Health Nurses, Advanced Pharmacists, Non-Medical Prescribers, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Peer Support (lived experience) Workers, Health Care Support Workers, Employment, Housing and Financial Advisors.

In this role, you will provide short and longer-term interventions to those who require our service and are taken onto our community caseload, working alongside our wider multi-disciplinary team to support people in their recovery.

As part of our local mental health alliance network, you will have the opportunity to attend our weekly meetings, which provide a platform to discuss how best to support individuals presenting with multiple needs, risks, and complexity, particularly where engagement may be difficult.

You will also support and contribute to the clinical supervision of junior members of the team and students on placement with the service.
