Clackmannanshire Council is promoting Community Connecting as a way of reducing or mitigating inequalities. Community Connecting links people seeking help from public services with local community resources to find services and activities that offer practical, social and emotional support to improve people’s lives. The programme brings together Clackmannanshire Council, CTSI and the wider voluntary and community sector to work in partnership to support local adults. This role links specifically with Strive a multi agency support team, alongside the Alcohol and Drug Partnership and Housing Services, working with people who have been identified by staff as likely to benefit from a Community Connecting approach that will positively improve their outcomes.
You’ll usually work with someone over several sessions, depending on their needs, though it is important that you maintain clear boundaries and do not create a dependence. Your expertise and experience will enable you to actively listen to their issues and concerns, and have good quality conversations to explore what might be required to meet their needs. Your holistic approach and excellent interpersonal skills will mean that you provide support and encouragement to people around a wide range of aspects of their wellbeing. You will provide them with information and support around access to groups and activities to help build their confidence and wellbeing. This support will enable them to break down social isolation, loneliness and bring lasting improvements to their lives.
