A leading space-based communication technologies company is seeking a Senior Communications Systems Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership and strategic direction. Job description

We are seeking a Senior Communications Systems Engineering Lead to join leading space-based communication technologies company, to provide technical leadership, team management, and strategic direction across key space programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide communications systems engineering expertise for bid planning and proposals
• Allocate projects appropriately
• Mentor and coach engineering teams through formal and informal training
• Own and evolve the communications systems engineering process
• Lead project technical reviews and provide high-level systems engineering oversight
• Deliver technical leadership on projects

Experience:

• Proven team leadership experience
• Lengthy commercial experience in systems engineering within satellite or telecoms sectors
• Strong commercial experience as Lead Systems Engineer or Architect in telecommunications projects
• Strong technical understanding of RF telecom systems including software, electronics, ASICs, and FPGAs
• Background in satellite telecommunications, especially payloads
• Familiarity with optics, lasers, LIDAR, and infrared systems
• Collaborative experience with AIT, production, and PA/QA functions in the space industry
