Job Description:

Senior Communications & Government Relations Specialist

Work with government leaders and organizations to integrate strategy, policy, and communications, and drive economic and social development, as well as enhancing their standing on the world stage.

Location: Dubai or Riyadh

About our client:

Our client is a government advisory firm working with government organizations and their leaders, including centre-of-government entities, ministries, authorities, agencies, and state-owned enterprises, to develop and deliver programs that successfully promote their global interests.

They are seeking experienced government experts to lead projects that integrate strategic communications skills with capacity building, public policy, and international relations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the work: Leading planning, including regular travel to clients in the MENA region to provide integrated, high-quality solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Building a relationship with the client: Gaining the trust of the principal client and providing insight and strategic advisory.
  • Leading the team: Ensuring team members understand the mission, roles are clear, work is high-quality, and performance standards are met.
  • Achieving commercial outcomes: Delivering on the scope of work, identifying opportunities for additional work, and persuading clients of the need for further engagement.
  • Participating in business development: Collaborating with the team to generate leads, develop proposals, and deliver pitches.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in strategic communications, government relations, or geopolitical communications.
  • Experience within an agency/consultancy is essential.
  • Experience in key organizational and human resource functions such as recruitment, training, team building, establishing new workflows, leadership development, systems and process design, and policy development.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management and presenting to senior stakeholders.
