Job description

Job Description:

What we are seeking…

We’re looking for a Senior Communications Consultant with a pensions technical or compliance background to join us.

You’ll be someone who has worked in a specialised DB and DC pensions technical role so far, but wants to expand their existing skills into communications and engagement, helping us to communicate pensions information accurately to members in a language that they will understand.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting our clients and their members through the delivery of communication and engagement projects is an important part of the role, but inspiring, educating and supporting your colleagues and clients in relation to pensions legislation and regulations is just as important.

A successful candidate will be:

  • A relationship builder – able to listen actively and interpret the needs of clients or colleagues to help build long-term relationships
  • An influencer – able to inspire, teach and coach others whether through client presentations or pensions technical training for colleagues
  • Curious and ‘can do’ – eager to dig deeper, ask questions, investigate, and find out more to better understand the client, member, process, or project. Always looking to improve what we do and how we do it. Willing to step up, try new things, or learn new skills
  • A strategic friend – bring warmth, empathy, and humor to your role, instill confidence in clients, and demonstrate that you are on their side and will get the job done
  • Passionate – about pensions legislation, regulations, and compliance, with a desire to coach, mentor, and develop others in this area
  • An organizer – highly organized, excellent planner, and attentive to detail
  • A problem solver – adept at finding effective, pragmatic solutions and anticipating issues before they arise
  • A multi-tasker – capable of juggling priorities, workloads, and clients while supporting colleagues and clients effectively

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • A higher qualification (HND or Degree)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a pensions technical role
  • Strong copywriting, proofing, and editing skills
  • Exacting attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to receive and respond positively to feedback
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills at all levels
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, able to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure

What’s in it for you?

  • 23 days’ holiday (rising to 27) with options to buy extra leave
  • Company-matched pension, life assurance, cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks’ fully paid maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, paternity pay, and more
  • Voluntary benefits including discounts, health & wellbeing, travel, and technology
  • Paid day out for volunteering or charity work
  • Access to Employee Network Groups promoting diversity and inclusion
