Job summary

NATS is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Comms engineering team, supporting air traffic operations at UK airports. You will act as an Engineering Authority for communications systems, guiding life-cycle activities from specification and deployment through to operational support and ongoing improvement in a safety-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Higher National Certificate in Engineering or IT; relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead a team and work within a team.
• Ability to communicate difficult technical concepts clearly, in writing and speech.
• Analytical, methodical, and systematic approach to incidents and risk.
• Ability to translate technical information into business language.
• Awareness of legislation and standards; ATSEP/OEM training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and oversee major projects.
• Act as Engineering Authority for complex systems across lifecycle.
• Deliver lifecycle support from specification to deployment and operation.
• Coordinate multi-site deployments and manage performance, assurance and change.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure safety and reliability of ATS systems.
• Plan, schedule and monitor work for self and team within deadlines.
