Working closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care, NHS partners, service providers and other stakeholders, you will help develop and deliver commissioning priorities that respond to the needs of local communities.

  • Promote co‑production: Ensure citizens, carers, providers and other stakeholders are meaningfully involved in the design and development of services.
  • Build effective partnerships: Work collaboratively with internal teams, NHS partners, other local authorities and external organisations to deliver shared priorities.
  • Support safeguarding: Work with providers and partners to identify and address risks and safeguarding concerns affecting vulnerable citizens.
  • Manage resources: Contribute to effective budget management, business cases, options appraisals and the efficient use of resources.
  • Develop evidence‑based practice: Use research, performance information and evaluation to inform policy, improve services and reduce inequalities.

  • Effective negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic awareness and experience of supporting the development and implementation of strategies or service changes.
  • Experience of contributing to the commissioning cycle, including commissioning intentions, service specifications, contract negotiations or service reviews.
  • The ability to develop partnerships and support market development in response to changing needs.
  • Experience of supporting change projects or programmes and contributing to service improvement.
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable citizens and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Experience of involving citizens and stakeholders in co‑production and consultation.
