Binnies, an RSK Group company, is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team as part of the @one Alliance.

Location: Northamptonshire / Lincolnshire

Join the @one Alliance, a collaboration of eight industry-leading companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO), managing over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. With AMP8 approaching, we are preparing for our most ambitious project phase—delivering innovative water infrastructure projects.

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will:

  • Lead complex, high-value water and water recycling projects
  • Drive technical excellence and share best practices within the commissioning team
  • Mentor apprentices and assistant engineers
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and operations teams
  • Manage on-site commissioning activities
  • Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans
  • Ensure zero-impact on customers
  • Engage in factory and site acceptance testing
  • Apply expertise in PLCs, MCCs, process control systems
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
  • Log lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Manage projects ranging from £1M to £75M
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and safely

Qualifications required:

  • HNC (BTEC Level 4) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
  • Proven commissioning experience in wastewater treatment
  • Site expertise with control systems, process optimisation, and operations
  • Experience supervising engineers or contractors
  • Degree and professional membership (preferred)

Essential skills include:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Full UK driving license
  • IT literacy and solutions-focused mindset
