Role overview & responsibilities

• Work with peers to shape and deliver the Property and Casualty proposition to market.
• Contribute to increased visibility in the local market, working closely with brokers to identify underserved segments where you can develop propositions to gain market share.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, negotiate effectively, and provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Underwrite both new and renewal business in line with the underwriting strategy.
• Ensure documentation and underwriting files are thoroughly checked, and terms are accurately issued in a timely manner.

Key requirements

• Proven track record of building a portfolio of mid-market property and casualty risks, writing risks of £10k+ GWP.
• Strong ability to influence and negotiate with brokers, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and creative thinking to meet underwriting needs while working in partnership with brokers.
• Ability to understand the needs of each underwriting line on a portfolio basis.
• Work confidently, embrace change, be inquisitive, resilient, imaginative, and direct.
