Job summary

Systems Engineering and Assessment Limited (SEA) is seeking a Senior Commercial Officer to provide expert commercial guidance across defence programmes. Based at our Bristol site with flexible working, you’ll support internal staff, customers and subcontractors on high-value bids and complex contractual matters, focusing on risk mitigation and compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting export-controlled contracts and cross-border commercial considerations.
• Experience in defence, engineering or similarly regulated sectors.
• Solid understanding of commercial risk management and contract change management.

The Senior Commercial Officer will be based at our Bristol site. This role allows for flexible working.

The salary for this role is up to £45k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

• You'll play a key role in identifying solutions and resolving issues in a wide range of situations. You'll take an important role in supporting high value, complex bids, providing high-integrity advice on commercial matters and risk mitigation
• You'll prepare business propositions for customer contracts, working closely with project managers, internal stakeholders and current and prospective customers
• You'll help to develop the commercial function at SEA, improving and enhancing the commercial effectiveness of the division through working together with Bid and Project Managers, project teams and through personal contribution

The skills you need

• Experience supporting export-controlled, overseas and international contracts, including cross-border commercial considerations
• Previous experience in the defence, engineering or other highly regulated sectors
• Good understanding of commercial risk management, contract change management and financial/commercial performance drivers
