Job summary

Procurement Heads Ltd is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead post-award contract management across major transport infrastructure and capital programmes. You will drive governance, supplier performance management and value-for-money outcomes across a portfolio of high-value contracts.

In this role you will develop and implement contract management strategies, mentor a team, and provide senior oversight to ensure robust risk management, change control and effective payments under NEC

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and implementing contract management strategies, frameworks or improvement programmes.
• Experience overseeing portfolios of contracts and providing senior governance and assurance.
• Strong post-award NEC contract management expertise, including change management, compensation events, risk and payment processes.

• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of contract management strategies and improvement initiatives.
• Establishing and promoting contract management best practices, standards, templates and assurance processes.
• Managing and mentoring a team responsible for strategic contract oversight and commercial governance.
• Defining governance frameworks, accountability structures and escalation processes for high-value and high-risk contracts.
• Overseeing post-award contract management activities including mobilisation, performance monitoring, risk management, change control and contract close-out.
• Providing expert oversight of NEC contracts, ensuring effective use of early warnings, compensation events, programme management and payment mechanisms.
• Supporting contract owners and suppliers in addressing performance issues and delivering value-for-money outcomes.
• Producing portfolio-level reporting and present recommendations to senior leadership and governance boards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead and strengthen contract management capability across major transport infrastructure and capital programmes. This role is focused on post-award commercial leadership, ensuring strategic contracts deliver value through robust governance, supplier performance management, risk mitigation and continuous improvement. Working within a high-profile programme environment, you will provide senior commercial oversight across a portfolio of complex contracts, helping to improve performance, manage risk and drive best practice across project and business teams. As Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing contract management strategies, strengthening governance arrangements and improving commercial outcomes across strategic programmes.

• Degree, professional qualification or equivalent senior-level experience.
