As a Quantity Surveyor, you will join a team of cost managers and project managers on various projects in the energy sector. Your role will involve assisting project teams with contract procurement documentation and managing the commercial activities during project execution to support the safe, successful delivery of our clients' programs, projects, and business objectives.
The Quantity Surveyor provides professional commercial support to the project teams through efficient contract procurement, cost control, risk management, and forecasting, supporting the Program/Project Execution Plans.
You should possess excellent interpersonal skills to build positive and effective relationships within project teams and the wider client organization.
· Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small to medium projects, controlling cost variables.
· Deliver or assist in managing medium to large-scale cost projects, ensuring the scope of work is completed within deadlines.
· Understand and adhere to business risk policies, raising concerns to senior management to prevent adverse impacts.
· Provide advice on risk management principles to ensure compliance with organizational processes.
· Analyze data to identify trends and prepare documentation such as delivery plans, supporting decision-making.
· Review and analyze existing cost and commercial management processes, sharing knowledge and contributing to service improvements.
· Interact with internal and external stakeholders, applying technical knowledge to ensure project delivery meets expectations.
· Offer technical advice and guidance on cost management, sharing knowledge to support colleagues and clients.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Relevant professional qualification or chartered status (e.g., RICS, CIPS, ICE, CIOB).
· Experience with NEC contracts.
· Experience in analysis and insights delivery.
· Strong self-management and prioritization skills, capable of working under pressure.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
· Ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
