The role

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping commercial strategy and driving performance across our Engineering and Systems Integration business unit. This is a pivotal leadership role where your decisions will directly impact national defence capabilities, operational excellence, and long-term business success.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to:

  • Lead commercial strategy and operations for the West Midlands production site
  • Drive governance and provide expert guidance across contract activities
  • Negotiate with customers, suppliers, and partners to secure optimal outcomes
  • Develop and manage pre-contractual agreements and commercial documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership to support bids, tenders, and growth initiatives

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 - 3 days in the office/onsite and 1 -2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Commercial Manager:

  • Demonstrating a strong track record in contract negotiation and commercial governance
  • Applying legal frameworks and principles to complex commercial environments
  • Influencing senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
  • Managing full contract lifecycles in multi-disciplinary settings
  • Interpreting financial data and driving cash control and billing performance

Qualifications for the Senior Commercial Manager:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a commercial discipline
  • Experience in defence, engineering, or vehicle manufacturing sectors – is preferred
