Senior Commercial Manager

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join our client, a Heavy Civil Engineering Contractor. The role involves overseeing all projects across the UK, with a primary focus on projects in the south. The successful candidate will ensure proper management and control of all projects, develop and deliver commercial strategies in line with business requirements, and visit UK sites at least 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of quantity surveyors, costing staff, and project planners
• Develop and implement procedures
• Oversee heavy civil engineering projects
• Ensure compliance with a wide range of contract conditions
• Maintain strong contractual knowledge and experience
• Utilize excellent IT skills and relevant software
• Solve problems efficiently and effectively
• Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and networking skills
• Prioritize workload to meet project deadlines
• Innovate and think creatively to deliver benefits
• Influence others positively

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Experience in development and implementation of procedures
• Experience in heavy civil engineering works
• Knowledge of various contract conditions
• Strong contractual experience
• Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards it
