Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?

We’re on the lookout for a driven and collaborative Senior Commercial Manager to join us providing top-tier asset management, rental, and advisory solutions. If you're someone who enjoys shaping strategy, building strong relationships, and making a real commercial impact, this could be your next big move.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our commercial operations, working across departments to influence how we win work, manage contracts, and drive value. You’ll bring clarity and leadership to bid processes, customer negotiations, and supply chain engagement—making sure our commercial goals are fully aligned with operational performance and client needs. You’ll play a leading role in our insurance management function, ensuring we stay protected while delivering the best outcomes for the business and our clients.

This is more than a numbers game—it's about navigating challenges with confidence, finding opportunity in the detail, and supporting colleagues across the business with practical insight and strong commercial judgment. From contributing to major strategic initiatives like M&A, to supporting audits and client negotiations, your work will shape how we deliver value every day.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior commercial role, preferably in the plant & fleet asset management / hire industry.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial qualification ACCA/ CIMA level.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and providing insights into asset lifecycle optimisation and risk management.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, capable of managing complex projects including change management
  • Business development and networking.
  • Financial management and budgeting.
  • Contract negotiation and compliance.
  • Market research and competitive analysis.
