Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial strategy and delivery for major software and technology procurements. Based in the UK with options across Manchester, Newcastle or Blackpool (3 days per week), you will shape sourcing strategies, negotiate with vendors and ensure value for money in a large public sector environment.

You will work closely with Digital, Technology, Finance and IT Asset Management to drive procurement outcomes,

Qualifications

• Extensive public sector commercial and procurement experience.
• Experience leading high-value software, technology and digital procurements from inception through to contract award.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, SaaS and cloud-based models.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial strategy for complex software and technology procurements/renewals.
• Develop sourcing strategies and commercial recommendations delivering value for money.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities from business case to contract award.
• Draft and manage procurement documentation, tender materials and evaluation criteria.
• Analyse supplier proposals, pricing and licensing models for robust decisions.
• Provide commercial leadership on licensing, subscriptions and consumption-based models.
