The role involves coordinating management services from contract signature to project completion across various sectors, providing technical expertise on building contract administration, and issuing certificates.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses, and assisting with formal execution.
  • Providing technical expertise on contract administration.
  • Measuring and valuing work, adjusting variations as per contract terms.
  • Ensuring cost control and reporting during the contract.
  • Developing financial reports for clients.
  • Managing costs related to design changes, contract awards, and construction activities.
  • Evaluating claims for delays and additional costs.
  • Issuing certificates of practical completion and final accounts.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans.
  • Developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to net zero carbon transition initiatives.

You’ll need to have:

  • Experience delivering service excellence to clients.
  • Proven experience in commercial management.
  • Understanding of costs, timescales, and risk implications.
  • Experience with risk management and change control.
  • Knowledge of various contract types.
  • Knowledge of BIM, negotiation skills, analytical skills, and digital competence.
  • A degree in quantity surveying or cost management.
  • Knowledge of contract law, value engineering, life cycle costing, and contractual frameworks.
  • Relevant technical qualifications.
  • Understanding of sustainability, social value, and carbon reduction issues.
  • Ability to seek learning and participate in initiatives like BIM.

You’ll also have:

  • Cost analysis/advice skills.
  • Professional membership or working towards it (e.g., MRICS/RICS).
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and guide others to meet KPIs.
